What should I expect in my first class?

For child and adult students alike, your first class will be an introduction to the world of martial arts. It will be a fun, engaging class that will impart the very basics of Karate.

Bring a water bottle, comfortable clothes, and be prepared to be barefoot.

Every student experiences some level of nervousness for their first class, but at Next Kick we have a positive, encouraging atmosphere to help ease the awkward feelings and make you feel at home!

Do I need to know any Martial Arts to join?

Absolutely not! We have classes specifically designed for brand new students to join with a low pressure, encouraging environment. Beginners are very welcome!

What kind of Martial Arts does Next Kick teach?

At Next Kick, we train in Freestyle Karate. This blend of Karate, Taekwondo, and Kickboxing. All of these martial arts have certain overlapping similarities that make them blend well together in training.

How long are the classes?

Our Junior and Kids classes are each 30 minutes long. We find that 30 minutes is the perfect amount of time for the fast moving, high-energy class plans we use for this age group!

Our Teen Adult classes are each 45 minutes long. This provides enough time to warm our bodies up and get a great workout in!

How often do students take class?

Accepted Answer

Students may come as often as they like, however we recommend two classes per week for the best results. All of our programs offer unlimited classes, so students can come more than twice if they want. Students may also just come once a week, but may find that they fall behind their classmates.

Private lessons are also available if a student is unable to make any of the several class times we offer for every age group!
